Aaron Butler took things down to the end of the Early Signing Period, but the 2024 wide receiver eventually committed to Texas and signed with the Longhorns on Friday evening. He is the 23rd high school player to sign with Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns, joining the 3rd-ranked recruiting class in the country.

Butler, who chose Texas over Arizona and Washington, is considered a 4-star recruit by 247Sports and the No. 21 wide receiver in the class. He joins 3 other high school WRs in the cycle: 5-star Ryan Wingo and in-state products Freddie DuBose and Parker Livingstone. Former Houston WR Matthew Golden has also signed with the program out of the transfer portal.

Butler was originally pledged to USC, committing to the Trojans in Jan. 2022. Nearly a year later, though, he reopened his recruitment, ultimately verballing to Colorado in May.

It looked as if Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes would keep Butler in the class, but he decommited on Dec. 9, just weeks before the early signing period. He is now headed to a Longhorns program that is SEC-bound in 2024.

Below are just a few of Butler’s high school highlights:
