It’s not often that you see a team violate the NCAA’s rules regarding communication devices during a game. However, that’s what Miami has done, and it’s now getting reprimanded.
The ACC announced on Monday that the Hurricanes violated that rule and will have a 20-percent reduction in communication devices for their matchup against Georgia Tech this week. Schools are typically limited to 23 communication devices for each game.
As the ACC pointed out, teams must share a “headset sheet” and “team credential list” by 90 minutes before kickoff of every game.
It’s unclear what exactly Miami did to violate the rule or when it happened. The Hurricanes are 4-4 this season after beating Pittsburgh, 38-34, this past Saturday.
