After Miami poorly attempts to troll the Gators, Florida GA destroys Hurricanes with perfect response
Florida and Miami will meet in Orlando in 228 days but the way these two Sunshine State programs have been going at it since the offseason began, this matchup may be the most anticipated season opener in the nation by the time the 2019 season finally rolls around.
The latest dust-up came after Miami’s official football Twitter account tried to take a shot at Florida for calling itself DBU. The reason Miami was questioning that status was the fact the Hurricanes finished No. 1 in the nation last season in pass defense after allowing only 135.6 passing yards per contest.
That is reason to celebrate, to be sure, but taking a shot at a 10-win Florida team seems like a mistake considering Miami just went 7-6 and its former coach retired rather than shake up his offensive staff. Not to mention the last time the Hurricanes competed on the field, Miami lost 35-3 to Wisconsin in the Pinstripe Bowl.
Here is Miami’s troll attempt, if you missed it:
Oh, your team claims it's the "real DBU?"

While it may have been a weak attempt at a troll, that would have been the end of the story if not for one particular response from Gainesville. When Florida defensive graduate assistant Ryan Osborn saw the tweet, he offered up a response to Miami that could not have been more perfect.
You right!!! No need to pass when @BadgerFootball runs for 333 yds!!! #NewEra ??? https://t.co/XsKEgZsJT3
