Coach Kevin Sumlin knows who will be under center for Texas A&M a little less than five months from today when the team faces UCLA in the season opener.

The school officially announced that senior Trevor Knight, who transferred to the school from Oklahoma not long after the start of the new year, will be the team’s starting quarterback for this season.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound fifth-year senior from San Antonio started 15 games for the Sooners and two bowl games. One of those bowls was the best game of his college career as he went 32-for-44 with 348 yards, 4 TD and an INT in Oklahoma’s 45-31 win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl back in the 2013 season.

He’ll have one of the deepest receiving corps in the SEC at his disposal this fall, including standouts Christian Kirk and Josh Reynolds.
