Stansbury, one of the Aggies’ top defenders last season with 47 tackles and three sacks, was dismissed by coach Kevin Sumlin on July 21 for personal reasons and is eligible to play immediately at Sumlin’s former school as a senior.
Stansbury was arrested and charged in Harris County with misdemeanor assault in April. Stansbury is Texas A&M’s third projected 2014 defensive starter no longer with the program. Victor Davis, who was expected to provide much-needed depth in the secondary, remains suspended after his arrest for shoplifting prior to SEC Media Days.
