Alabama announces jersey number for Keelon Russell, other newcomers

Alabama has finalized its jersey numbers for spring ball ahead of the 2025 season.

The Crimson Tide shared that information on Sunday afternoon. A total of 29 players including incoming freshmen and transfers received new jersey numbers from the program. Additionally, 5 returning players also announced new jersey numbers for the 2025 season.

The headliner for Alabama’s 2025 signing class is 5-star freshman Keelon Russell. This announcement confirms that he will wear No. 12 for the Crimson Tide during his freshman season. Quarterbacks to wear No. 12 at Alabama include Joe Namath and Kenny Stabler, amongst others.

Alabama’s top defensive signee in the class of 2025, 5-star cornerback Dijon Lee, will wear No. 5 this season.

Alabama is gearing up for the start of spring practice on Monday. Earlier this weekend, the Crimson Tide announced new details for its annual A-Day event that will once again be free for fans to attend. However, the Crimson Tide have decided not to have a live broadcast of this year’s game.

Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class under Kalen DeBoer finished at No. 4 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
