Alabama becomes first team in SEC history to score 50-plus points in first 3 games

The Nick Saban era at Alabama has been known mostly for its defense, as Saban has put together dominant players and schemes on that side of the ball.
However, the Crimson Tide’s offense broke an SEC scoring record Saturday night against Ole Miss. When the Tide kicked the field goal to go up 52-7 over the Rebels in third quarter, Alabama became the first team in SEC history to score 50-plus points in its first three games.
The SEC was established in 1932.
Alabama beat Louisville 51-14 in Week 1, and it beat Arkansas State 57-7 last Saturday.
The Tide’s offense is led by sophomore QB Tua Tagovailoa, who was nearly flawless Saturday night. Tagovailoa was taken out in the first half, and he hasn’t returned to the game. He finished 11-of-15 for 191 yards and two TDs. Alabama’s young dynamic receivers have also had a hand. Jerry Jeudy, DeVonta Smith and Henry Ruggs III have combined for four TDs Saturday night. Backup QB Jalen Hurts has added 85 yards passing and two TDs.
