Alabama celebrates win over Georgia with raucous version of Rammer Jammer
Alabama could be excused for playing a slightly louder version of “Rammer Jammer” after its slightly epic 41-34 victory over Georgia on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.
If ever there was an occasion and a party scene to play the program’s de facto victory song, it was this one, as the Crimson Tide overcame a frantic Bulldogs’ 4th-quarter rally to escape with the win on Jalen Milroe’s late, 75-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Williams and a game-sealing interception by freshman Zabien Brown.

So, “Rammer Jammer” played loud and proud late Saturday night as the thriller winded down and everybody at home caught their breath. Meanwhile, the fans at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium were left breathless, as they cheered wildly to the song that when played means Alabama is on its way to victory or has locked up victory.
Originally, “Rammer Jammer” had 2 different versions to it, 1 played before kickoff and 1 played after the game. These days, the song is only played when a Crimson Tide win is within reach, like on Saturday night after Alabama outlasted Georgia in an SEC classic that will be talked about for decades.
As the song was being played, Milroe motioned toward the crowd with his arms and soaked in the incredible moment.
“Rammer Jammer” never sounded so good for Alabama fans.
