According to Al.com, Alabama assistant coach Jeff Banks and Texas A&M have settled their contract dispute without it coming down to a lawsuit.

Banks left A&M in January to become Alabama’s special teams coordinator and tight ends coach, allegedly breaching his employment contract. His contract stated that Banks had to pay the full buyout if he left for another SEC school.

On Thursday however, Banks’ agent, Devin Bonik, stated that the breach of contract dispute was settled in early September before a lawsuit could be filed. Details of the settlement were not immediately available.

Banks’ deal with Alabama stated that the university would pay up to $457,448 of his buyout with his previous employer. He was to make $375,000 a year at Texas A&M through 2019.

Alabama and Texas A&M coincidentally face off against each other this Saturday.
