Alabama cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation National Defensive Player of the Week.

Fitzpatrick, a freshman from Old Bridge, N.J., returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the Crimson Tide’s 41-23 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday.

Fitzpatrick is the only player in Alabama football history to return two interceptions for touchdowns in the same game.

He also had two solo tackles and helped the Crimson Tide limit Texas A&M to just one offensive touchdown and 316 yards of total offense. Texas A&M had been averaging 480 yards per game.
