Alabama linebacker Reggie Ragland was named the Chuck Bednarik Award National Defensive Player of the Week after his performance in the Crimson Tide’s 27-14 win over Arkansas last Saturday.
Ragland, a 6-foot-2, 252-pound senior from Madison, Ala., had eight tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a pass breakup and two quarterback hurries in his team’s win over the Razorbacks.
Ragland leads the Crimson Tide with 50 tackles this year, including 26 solo tackles.
Tenth-ranked Alabama (5-1) plays #9 Texas A&M (5-0) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in College Station, Texas. The game will air on CBS.
