It’s hard to put a price on certain pieces of memorabilia from the career of Nick Saban, but one Alabama fan has a particularly unique item in their possession.
During Friday’s broadcast of “The Paul Finebaum Show,” a viewer identified as “Josh from Alabama” relayed an odd but supposedly true story of collecting a used piece of Saban’s chewing gum after a game. It involved enlisting the help of a security guard to dig through the trash, but the endeavor was fruitful.
“I told (the security guard) what happened and said I’m going to get that gum. He said no, it’s only authorized personnel,” Josh relayed. “I gave the security $20 and he went in there and hunted and found it, so I have Nick Saban’s used chewing gum with his DNA on it at the house.”
Finebaum was not fazed by the admission, only asking the fan if he could confirm the authenticity of the gum. Admittedly, that’s a hard item to get verified, but Josh maintains its legitimacy.
Then, things took a bit of a turn when Finebaum had a question pop into his brain:
“Did you ever consider chewing the Nick Saban chewing gum?” pondered Finebaum.
“I can’t mix perfection (with) my DNA,” conceded Josh. “… I can’t taint that.”
However, he claimed he was offered $5,000 on the day of the event for the gum itself. Here’s the wild but (apparently) true story:

That’s probably not the most valuable piece of Saban memorabilia out there, but it’s quite possibly the most unique!
