Alabama fans received ‘closure’ on Nick Saban era with win over Georgia, says Matt Barrie

Alabama fans have gotten a bit of closure, if you will, from the team’s 41-34 win over the Georgia Bulldogs.
That’s exactly the way ESPN analyst Matt Barrie views the situation, considering how uncertain some things were with Alabama having to move forward with a head coach not named Nick Saban, especially since he just so happens to be considered the greatest top ever take the sidelines in college football history.
“Coming into the season, you could say Alabama fans were happy with the Kalen DeBoer hire, but in the back of their mind, they don’t really know how it’s going to go until they get into that first game, that first big SEC game and play it,” Barrie said on The Paul Finebaum Show.
There wasn’t any lack of certainty surrounding DeBoer by the time the clock hit zeros in Bryant-Denny Stadium, though, as Alabama sealed up a victory over the team previously anticipated to be the best in the nation. And, if it weren’t for the comeback effort that nearly succeeded for Georgia, the Crimson Tide were threatening to boat race the Bulldogs with a 30-7 lead at halftime.
“I believe that with what Alabama did, with Williams the young receiver, Jalen Milroe on the Heisman Trophy candidate list, what Kalen DeBoer did on Saturday night to me, gave Alabama fans closure on the Nick Saban era,” Barrie said.
Alabama will look to stay on the same trajectory as the schedule continues with a matchup against Vanderbilt.
