Alabama flips 2027 defensive lineman, in-state recruit from American program

Alabama had to wait out several rain delays during its Week 3 game against Florida State, but eventually came away with a win to improve to 3-0.
On Sunday, the Crimson Tide received good news from the recruiting trail: an in-state target flipped his commitment to the program after pledging to a team in the American Conference during the summer.
Kavarris “Duke” Duncan, an Alpine, Ala., product, told On3’s Hayes Fawcett about his decision to flip from Tulane to Alabama.
“I feel like Bama has a standard that I fit. It’s an NFL outlet,” Duncan said.
Duncan is a beast of a player at over six feet and 300+ pounds. After receiving an initial offer from Tulane in March, he committed after an official visit to the New Orleans school in June. Alabama, though, remained interested, extending an offer to him on Saturday. That led to Sunday’s decision to pledge to the Tide.
Duncan is the 15th player from the class of 2027 to verbally commit to Kalen DeBoer‘s program. It’s a class that’s topped by Louisiana quarterback Elijah Haven, the No. 9 recruit in the country according to 247Sports. He joins fellow defensive line recruit Avrian Pauley, who has been pledged since April.
