Alabama fans looking for information from SEC Media Days, don’t expect to find it on your team’s official Twitter account. At least for the time being.
On Thursday, Alabama football’s Twitter account was suspended for the second time in four months. According to AL.com’s Michael Casagrande, it was suspended due to a copyright violation for a remixed song used in a video posted by the account.
It was the fourth copyright strike against the Twitter account this year, adding to two from last year, per Casagrande.
This isn’t completely unusual for a college football team’s Twitter account to be suspended, mostly because of copyright violations such as this one. Earlier this year, Georgia and Texas were among the teams to have their account suspended. Both have since returned.
The last time the Crimson Tide’s team account was suspended was on April 10, which reportedly happened for a similar reason.
Alabama did get its Twitter account back Thursday afternoon, but it has no blue check mark and four followers.
