The University of Alabama football team gained votes in both polls, but slipped behind Oregon to No. 3 in this week’s Associated Press rankings.

The Crimson Tide stayed at No. 2 in the Amway coaches’ poll after receiving 1,435 votes, up from last week’s 1,432. The top five was 1. Florida State, 2. Alabama, 3. Oklahoma, 4. Oregon, and 5. Auburn. The difference between Oklahoma and Oregon was just one point, 1,408 to 1,407.

Alabama had 1,334 votes in the Associated Press poll, up from 1,317, which had a top five of 1. Florida State, 2. Oregon, 3. Alabama, 4. Oklahoma, and 5. Auburn. Oregon had 1,415 votes after Saturday’s 46-27 victory over No. 7 Michigan State, up from 1,314. The Ducks landed 16 first-place votes in the AP poll and six from the coaches.

After gaining a first-place vote from one of the coaches, Alabama has one in both polls.

The Crimson Tide now has three top 10 teams on the schedule, Auburn, No. 7 Texas A&M and No. 10 LSU. It also plays No. 14 Ole Miss, while Florida, Mississippi State, Tennessee and West Virginia all received votes.
