Alabama, Georgia set updated availability reports for Week 5 clash

Alabama and Georgia are primed for one of the best games in the country this weekend — and possibly of the 2024 season — when the two sides meet in Tuscaloosa Saturday night. On Thursday, the updated availability reports for both teams were released 2 days ahead of kickoff.
For Georgia, there have not been any serious updates with a trio of defensive linemen listed. Mykel Williams and Jordan Hall were both listed as questionable while Warren Brinson was listed as probable. Offensively, wide receiver Sacovie White appeared as “doubtful” for the game.
Alabama had just 3 players listed overall with linebackers Qua Russaw and Jeremiah Alexander and running back Richard Young all listed as “probable.”
White is not near the top of Georgia’s receiving threats with 2 catches for 22 yards this season. However, the status of Mykel Williams remains one of the key stories to watch.
Williams has 2 TFLs, tied for 2nd on the Bulldogs, despite his lone appearance of the season coming in the opener against Clemson. He has 16 TFLs and 9 sacks in his career, and having Williams would be a major boost for the Bulldogs against Kalen DeBoer‘s offense.
The betting line for Saturday’s game has shifted slightly since Kirby Smart and Georgia opened as a 2-point road favorite in Tuscaloosa. It is now down to the Bulldogs -1 at bet365, so the expectation is for the latest chapter in Alabama vs. Georgia to be an evenly-matched game.
