Slowly but surely, Alabama is back to building another elite recruiting class. On Wednesday, one of the top offensive guards in the nation committed to the Crimson Tide. Chris Owens, an Arlington, Texas native, tweeted out his commitment Wednesday morning.

Owens is a four-star prospect, rated as the No.7 offensive guard in the class by the 247sports industry composite. He’s the second offensive lineman in the class, joining four-star tackle Jonah Williams. Alabama went heavy on offensive line prospects in 2015, signing four guards and one tackle.
Alabama’s commitment count is back up to six players for 2016. Over the weekend, the nation’s top-rated athlete, Demtris Robinson, decommitted from Alabama and re-opened his recruitment.
