Alabama basketball assistant Bryan Hodgson was hired by Arkansas State Wednesday, a move that has been a long time coming. Hodgson is one of the top assistants in the country and has been with head coach Nate Oats since his days at Buffalo.
Hodgson is a great recruiter and was hired as Oats’ lead recruiter in 2019. Everyone you see on a historic 2023 Alabama basketball squad was recruiting at least in part by Hodgson, including Brandon Miller, Charles Bediako and Jaden Bradley.
Arkansas State has hired Alabama assistant Bryan Hodgson, source told @Stadium.
Hodgson was in mix for other jobs, but this one fits. Has been with Nate Oats at Buffalo and in Tuscaloosa and is responsible for recruiting majority of the roster.

Hodgson came to Buffalo under Oats by way of Midland junior college in Texas. He was an assistant there before joining the Bulls’ staff from 2015-2019.
Alabama faces off against San Diego State for a trip to the Elite 8 on Friday.
