Alabama added a running back to its 2018 recruiting class on Sunday when 3-star, all-purpose back Jerome Ford pledged his commitment to the Crimson Tide.
Ford, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound prospect, is rated as the No. 14 all-purpose back in the country. The 247Sports Composite also has him rated as a Top 100 prospect in the state of Florida (Armwood High School, Seffner, Fla.).
In addition to the one he received from the Tide, Ford has other SEC offers from Tennessee and Missouri. He took an official visit to Tuscaloosa over the weekend, and that appeared to be all he needed to see.
Alabama currently has the nation’s No. 7 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. It is the SEC’s No. 2 class.
Ford posted the following tweet on Sunday afternoon announcing his commitment:
I want to thank all my family, friends and coaches who’ve supported me and helped me get this far. After 4 years playing for Armwood High School I would like to announce that I’m taking my talents to Tuscaloosa. #RTR 🐘 #813 pic.twitter.com/vydeqjgWYx
