Alabama lands 2nd international prospect in 2024 class, beats out SEC team
Alabama went to the Great White North to pick up its latest commitment from Steve Mboumoua on Wednesday.
Mboumoua is a 3-star defensive lineman in the 2024 class. The 247Sports Composite ranked him as the No. 41 player at the position. He’s a native of Lac-Megantic, Quebec.
It was a special moment for Mboumoua as his entire family was there to see him pick the Crimson Tide over Mississippi State. He attempted to fake out the crowd at first, but then put the Alabama hat on his head.

This isn’t the 1st time that the Crimson Tide have gone international in recruiting this cycle. The other Alabama 2024 commit from outside of the United States is 3-star linebacker Justin Okoronkwo, who hails from Germany.
Some new moves at the DL position have been associated with Alabama lately. Texas A&M transfer LT Overton committed to the Crimson Tide on Tuesday.
Mboumoua joins fellow DLs Isaia Faga and Jeremiah Beaman in Alabama’s 2024 class. Beaman is the only player mentioned among those who has not yet signed his letter of intent.
