Alabama picked up a solid addition to its future secondary on Thursday night.
Brendan Gant, a 4-star safety in the class of 2019, pledged his commitment to the Crimson Tide via Twitter.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, Gant is one of the top prospects in his class.
The Lakeland, Fla. native (Kathleen High School) is rated as the No. 8 safety in the country.
He’s also the No. 20 prospect in the state of Florida, as well as the No. 122 recruit nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite.
With additional offers from Auburn, Florida State and Ohio State, it’s easy to see why Alabama fans are excited about Gant’s commitment to the Crimson Tide. Alabama offered him on Oct. 15.
The Tide now has 247Sports’ No. 3 recruiting class for 2019 with a total of five prospects already signed.
Here’s the tweet Gant posted announcing his decision:
Please respect my decision ‼️🙏🏾 ALL GLORY TO GOD 💯🙏🏾 #RollTide @CoachStrickKHS @KHS_Football @bigeasy49 @H2_Recruiting pic.twitter.com/7DZmWbnJc5
