Alabama was the first team left out of the College Football Playoff on Sunday, but the Crimson Tide’s season isn’t over.

Kalen DeBoer’s team will have 1 final game in the 2024 season, as it was announced the Crimson Tide would be taking on Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa.

These 2 teams played last season in a CFP semifinal game. It was a thrilling game that the Wolverines won in overtime en route to the national championship.

The Crimson Tide had an outside chance of making the CFP this year, but the committee on Sunday made the decision to go with SMU as the final at-large team.

Alabama went 9-3 on the season, and had some impressive wins against Georgia and South Carolina. However, the Crimson Tide also had a couple of bad losses, particularly against Vanderbilt and Oklahoma. The loss to the Sooners was especially bad, as it was a 24-3 loss that happened just 2 weeks ago.

The game against Michigan gives DeBoer and the Crimson Tide a chance to end a disappointing season on a positive note and pick up its 10th win of the season.

The game will be in Tampa on New Year’s Eve, and the game will kickoff at noon ET on ESPN.
