TUSCALOOSA, Ala. _ University of Alabama coach Nick Saban started off the Crimson Tide’s media day on Sunday by announcing that senior weakside linebacker Trey DePriest might miss a few days of practice.

DePriest sustained what the coach described as a minor injury during Saturday’s workout, the team’s first full-team practice of training camp. Players have yet to start wearing pads, and will be in shells for the first time this afternoon.

Saban said there may be a couple of other players held out today at Bryant-Denny Stadium, the only open practice of the year for fans.

DePriest has played 40 games, with 26 starts. This past season he had 65 tackles, 7½ for a loss, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and one interception.
