Alabama might play in first college game at Atlanta Falcons’ new stadium
According to a report, Peach Bowl officials are looking to have the University of Alabama football team play in one of the first college football games in the Atlanta Falcons’ new stadium.
ESPN’s Ivan Maisel tweeted that the plan is to have a pair of Chick-fil-A Kickoff games in 2017, with Alabama playing in one and Georgia Tech the other.
If the new $1.4 billion dollar stadium, which is already under construction, can stay on schedule the College Football Playoff semifinal on Dec. 31, 2016 will be the final football game in the Georgia Dome unless the Atlanta Falcons host an NFL playoff game.
Alabama will open the next two seasons in the Cowboys Classic at AT&T Stadium in Irving, Texas, against Wisconsin in 2015, and Southern California in 2016.
