The Crimson Tide have done this before, and it may have seemed crazy at the time, but offering scholarships to players before they even touch a high school field can prove to be beneficial. Dylan Moses, the No. 1 overall recruit by many in the class of 2017, received his first scholarship offers from Alabama and LSU in eighth grade.
For Drew Pyne, he joined that rare class of elite athletes offered at a young age earlier today. Pyne, who just finished eighth grade, received an offer from Alabama.

According to 247Sports.com, Pyne is a 6-foot-1 pro style quarterback out of New Canaan, Conn. He has already received offers from Florida State, South Carolina and South Alabama.
His highlight tape can be found here, on YouTube.
A lot of time will probably pass before Pyne makes his final decision, but with a couple SEC offers already on the table, it’s easy to imagine he will receive a few more.
