It seems like Alabama’s offseason has been nothing but bad news. On Saturday, Nick Saban and his staff got some good news in the form of a commitment. Jonah Williams, a four-star offensive tackle, tweeted out his commitment to Alabama.

Williams, a Folsom, Calif. native, is the No. 9 offensive tackle in the class, per 247sports’ industry composite. To add to his commitment, the 6-foot-5 and 272 pound OT said he plans to enroll in January 2016 to give himself a leg up on his freshman season. Williams made an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa last weekend before making his commitment.

After going guard-heavy in 2015, Alabama will look to add talent on the edges of the offensive line for 2016, and Williams is a good start. He is the fifth commit for the 2016 class and the second four-star player to commit, along with the nation’s top-rated athlete, Demetris Robinson. The Crimson Tide also have a commitment from five-star Shyheim Carter, one of the top-rated cornerbacks in the class.
