Alabama radio announcer Eli Gold says this year’s Crimson Tide offense is special

Ever since Nick Saban took over the Alabama program in 2007, the Crimson Tide have been dominant, but always in the same way — outstanding defense, serviceable (or slightly better) offense.
This year, though, things are looking like they may be different. Under QB Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama’s offense has been incredible through two games.
Radio announcer Eli Gold, who has seen many an Alabama season come and go, joined “The Opening Kickoff” on 105.5 WNSP and said he thinks this year’s offense is the best in the Saban era (via AL.com):
Gold was asked to compare Alabama offense to past units under coach Nick Saban, keeping in mind the opponents in the Tide’s first two weeks.
“I have never seen another offense like this in the Nick Saban era,” Gold replied.
That’s high praise coming from a guy who has literally seen every offense of the Nick Saban era.
The Tide will get to face their first SEC opponent of the 2018 season on Saturday, when they travel to Oxford to take on Ole Miss.
