Alabama fires back at Tom Brokaw after Ole Miss graduation speech

In the SEC, teams are constantly going at one another on the field, on the recruiting trails and now, apparently, in graduation speeches.
On Saturday, legendary news broadcaster Tom Brokaw spoke at a graduation ceremony at Ole Miss, where he took a shot at Alabama. In the video below, Brokaw says:
“I’m so relieved to be speaking to a graduating class from Ole Miss. If I were speaking at Alabama, I would have to use smaller words and shorter sentences.”

According to al.com, Alabama officials wasted no time in firing back at Brokaw. In a statement released on Sunday, the university said:
“Thirty-six percent of the freshman class at the University of Alabama has an ACT score of 30 or higher. This places Alabama in the top 5% in the country. Our numbers speak for themselves.”
Brokaw (thankfully) has yet to respond to Alabama’s statement, so it appears this mini-feud (Brokaw-gate?) is over before it ever really got started. But, with so many students boasting high ACT scores, it’s probably safe to say Alabama fans will remember Brokaw’s insult when the two teams meet in Oxford on Saturday, Sept. 17.
