Alabama continues to win battles on the recruiting trail.

Three-star wide receiver Tyler Simmons has elected to head to Tuscaloosa, picking Alabama over Georgia among other schools.

Many believed Georgia had a good chance to keep Simmons in state but Alabama came on strong through December (including a helicopter visit from Nick Saban). With the coaching change in Athens and Alabama rolling to the national championship, it is hard to pass up that opportunity.

“For one it’s the comfort level with Alabama,” Simmons told BamaOnline. “Another reason I wanted to commit there is I want to major in engineering and it’s a great engineering school.

“After talking to the coaches I feel comfortable that it’s not just about football there,” Simmons said. “Once you’re committed, you’re not just committed to play football you’re committed to the school. They were just real through the whole recruiting process.”

This obviously a good get for Alabama.

Simmons is currently a three-star wide receiver according to the 247Sports Composite, but Rivals has him ranked as a four-star receiver. So he is a growing talent still.

Alabama, of course, just continues to win on the recruiting trail.
