Auburn football head coach Alex Golesh said Wednesday afternoon that UCLA transfer Andre Jordan Jr. has been one of the most consistent players on Auburn’s defense so far during fall camp.
Jordan is set to enter his 4th year in college football after starting out at Oregon State. He played 2 seasons with the Beavers before transferring to UCLA, where he totaled 10 pass deflections and 19 tackles across 12 appearances and 8 starts. His 10 PBUs tied for first among Big Ten defenders during the regular season, which helped earn him an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention nod.
Now, he’s at Auburn and looking to start opposite Rayshawn Pleasant at cornerback.
Golesh also noted senior defensive tackle Dallas Walker when mentioning players who have been consistent to this point in fall camp, saying he was “as consistent as we’ve had on defense” per The Auburn Observer’s Justin Ferguson.
Auburn’s defense has the pieces to be impressive in Year 1 under Golesh, who is back in the SEC after his first head coaching gig at South Florida. Alongside Jordan, Pleasant and Walker, Xavier Atkins and Jared Smith look to make Auburn’s defense the best in the SEC.
