Alex Wollschlaeger, a former All-MAC offensive lineman and one of the best O-linemen in the transfer portal, announced on Monday that he will play at Kentucky next season.
Wollschlaeger is a beast and stands at 6-7, 305 pounds. He’s a 2-time All-MAC selection, earning first-team honors for his work this past regular season.
Folks, Mark Stoops is on a roll in the transfer portal. The Wildcats have certainly addressed a position of need by adding Wollschlaeger and former Arkansas IOL Joshua Braun. These 2 commitments came just hours apart and will bolster an offensive line that finished 116th in the country in sacks allowed this past season.
Kentucky beat out Indiana to snag Wollschlaeger, visiting the Hoosiers before taking an official visit to Kentucky this past weekend. And though that wouldn’t be as impressive of a recruiting win in the past, it certainly is now with the Hoosiers on an upward trajectory under Curt Cignetti.
Wollschlaeger’s expertise is pass blocking, and he has an impressive 2,341 snaps under his belt across the past 5 seasons with the Falcons. He started with Bowling Green in 2020 and did not play in 2021, meaning he has just 1 season of eligibility remaining.
