Amazingly, these 4 dumb things all happened on the same Saturday

They say that anything can happen on any given Saturday, which is true. But sometimes, you have to question what players, coaches and fans do on those Saturdays in the fall.

Somehow, some way, these four dumb things all took place yesterday.

How do players continually drop balls before reaching the goal line? Last week, it was Clemson. This week, there were two different instances.

1. Ohio State scored an impressive victory on the road at Oklahoma late last night, but not before an odd sequence of plays took place in the first quarter. After a 68-yard interception return for a touchdown by the Buckeyes defense, Joe Mixon of Oklahoma took a kick return 97 yards to the house. Kind of.

Thankfully for Mixon, the Big 12 referees were asleep at the wheel and didn’t reverse the touchdown call.

2. California upset Texas last night, 50-43, but with 1:43 left, Golden Bears running back Vic Enwere was going into the end zone to seal the deal against the Longhorns. Once again, a player decided to drop the ball before he actually got into the end zone. Texas recovered it, but the recovery didn’t meet the standard of an “immediate recovery,” and the Golden Bears regained possession at the one-yard line. Really?

3. South Carolina State had no chance against Clemson yesterday, but this “kickoff return” didn’t help. The South Carolina State player intended on taking a knee in the end zone, but he just, didn’t take a knee… he then proceeded to flip the ball to the referee.

He then realized what he had done and tried to pounce on the ball, but Clemson got there first.

4. Sandusky is innocent? Really? No words are needed to go into further detail on this one.
