Andrew Whitworth praised the job that LSU’s freshman tackles have done in 2022.

As the No. 10 team in the initial College Football Playoff rankings, LSU has been effective on offense and the offensive line has played a significant role in the offense’s success. The offensive line leaned on several freshmen to hold down multiple positions on the line.

Two freshman tackles who stepped up for LSU this season were Will Campbell and Emery Jones. The 2 freshmen have stabilized the offensive line for the Tigers.

While appearing on WAFB’s “Jacques Talk,” Whitworth highlighted Campbell and Jones as 2 key tackles on the offensive line. He was impressed with how they have played:

“Two bookend tackles that young playing in the SEC, it’s hard to imagine that,” Whitworth said. “I couldn’t imagine in that offense, at that age, being asked to go out and play the way those guys have.”

Campbell and Jones were 2 key recruits in the LSU’s 2022 recruiting class. Both offensive tackles were Louisiana high school prospects that decided to remain in their home state. This has been a strong year for the 2 tackles in their debut seasons.

Whitworth, who played at LSU from 2001 to 2005, was impressed with what he saw from Campbell and Jones. LSU will host Alabama in Week 10.
