Anthony Black becomes first Division I freshman to record insane stat vs. Top 10 team

Anthony Black is quickly putting his name on the map as one of the best freshmen in the nation. The Arkansas guard made some history Tuesday in the team’s 90-87 loss against Creighton in the Maui Invitational.
Black posted 26 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. The 6-foot-7, 198-pound Texas native became the lone Division I freshman since 1997 to register at least 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in a contest featuring AP Top 10 squads.

Black is averaging 14.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists on 53.2 percent shooting. In Arkansas’ first game in the Maui Invitational, Black amassed 26 points, 6 assists, 3 assists and 2 steals in an 80-54 victory vs. Louisville.
Black was considered by the 247Sports Composite to be the nation’s No. 2 point guard and No. 17 overall prospect, while being the No. 3 recruit from Texas.
Arkansas has a 4-1 record heading into Wednesday night’s game vs. San Diego State. Tip off is slated for 10 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on ESPN2.
