The new AP Top 25 is out! Media members had two weekends of games to digest before updating rankings from the preseason poll.
Georgia and Ohio State remain the top 2 teams in the AP poll. UGA received 57 first-place votes to OSU’s 5.
Oregon was previously No. 3. The Ducks slid 4 spots to No. 7 after a closer-than-expected win over Idaho.
Texas is the new No. 3, while Alabama and Notre Dame also moved up. Ole Miss remains No. 6.
Mizzou cracks the top 10, checking in at No. 9 after a season-opening win. Defending national champion Michigan slid 1 spot, but remains in the top 10.
As one would expect, Florida State, USC, Miami, Clemson and LSU are the biggest movers.
FSU was ranked No. 10 in the preseason poll. The Seminoles are off to an 0-2 start with losses to Georgia Tech (Week 0) and Boston College (Week 1). Unsurprisingly, Florida State is no longer ranked and did not receive any votes to be ranked in Week 2.
USC’s win in Las Vegas over LSU moved the Trojans up 10 places to No. 13, LSU’s former spot. The Tigers, meanwhile, move down 5 spots for Week 2.
Miami was No. 19 in the preseason poll. After dominating Florida in The Swamp, the Hurricanes are up 7 spots to No. 12.
Clemson is hanging on by a thread. The Tigers’ blowout loss to Georgia resulted in a new ranking of No. 25, down 11 spots.
