Archie Manning says grandson, Arch, ‘a little ahead’ of Peyton Eli at same stage

The Manning family is football royalty, and it appears their third generation of reign is ready to take the sport by storm.

Former Ole Miss and New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning, who is the father of Peyton and Eli Manning, now has a grandson, Arch, starring as a freshman high school signal caller in New Orleans.

As amazing as that is, the more incredible fact is that at this point in his development, Archie says he’s better than what his uncles were as freshmen in high school.

“He’s probably a little ahead of them as a freshman,” Archie Manning said according to USA Today.

Now, that doesn’t mean Arch will continue to develop and become a better NFL quarterback than his uncles. He has a long way to go for that. But clearly, he has the talent, genes and name supporting his football career.

Arch is the son of Archie’s oldest son and the eldest brother of Peyton and Eli, Cooper Manning. Archie has gone on record saying Cooper was the best athlete in the family, but he stopped playing sports because of a rare spinal condition he was diagnosed with at 18.

Maybe one day, Cooper will live through his son playing college football as his brothers did.
