Arizona State and Texas‘ contest in the Peach Bowl has been anything but ordinary and while Texas has held the majority of the momentum in this contest, the Sun Devils have managed to keep themselves in this game and continue to have things within reach down into the heart of the fourth quarter.
There have been some unfortunate events in potential scoring opportunities, including a blocked field goal that was unique in and of itself. On the play, the field goal was blocked and bounced off the ground and still went through the uprights. That’s one that you don’t see too often. Later on in the game, there was also a safety by Arizona State that gave the Sun Devils some additional life and brought the game to the odd 17-8 score that was held with Texas leading by the top of the fourth quarter.
Here’s a look at the blocked field goal play. The 36-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Carston Kieffer in the final seconds of the first half, allowing Texas to walk into the locker room at halftime with a 17-3 lead.
It will be interesting to see how things continue to play out in a game that has been more competitive than some may have imagined it would have been.
