Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek joined Fayetteville’s Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly on Thursday to give an update on head coach Chad Morris’ coaching staff.
Morris has hired a few coaches already, but he still has about half a staff to fill, as Mattingly pointed out during the interview.
“He’s very comfortable on the offensive side of the ball. I think he’s got a good idea of who is going to be on that side of the ball as far as a staff goes,” Yurachek said. “That’s a group he’s had out recruiting, trying to shore up the class that will sign on Dec. 20.
“I think he really wants to take his time on the defensive side of the ball and hire a great defensive coordinator and then work with that coordinator to hire great position coaches on defense,” the AD added. “Offensively, he’s in a good position, because that’s the side that he’s really comfortable with. Defensively, he’s taking his time to make sure he gets the right person to lead the defense and then help that person develop a great staff.”
