Arkansas’ surprisingly successful season was rewarded with a favorable bowl trip as destinations were announced on Sunday.

Per a report by Brett McMurphy of Action Network HQ, Arkansas will be headed to Tampa, Fla. to play in the Outback Bowl. They will play Penn State, which is 7-5.

Not much was expected from Arkansas this season under coach Sam Pittman, who is only in his second season as a head coach of a four-year school. Arkansas began the season by becoming the talk of the SEC and much of the college football world when they beat Texas and Texas A&M in September. The two teams were ranked No. 15 and No. 7, respectively, when they played the Razorbacks.

Arkansas finished the season with an 8-4 record and were 4-4 in the SEC. This is the first time Arkansas has been selected to play in a Florida bowl gams since 2006.
