As the Arkansas Razorbacks were getting blown out 48-22 at South Carolina on Saturday afternoon, QB Austin Allen left the game early.

The star senior didn’t play in the fourth quarter while dealing with what is thought to be a right shoulder injury.

After the game, coach Bret Bielema said he didn’t know whether Allen would be ready for practice this week (via WholeHogSports.com):

“I don’t know the status of Austin,” Bielema said. “I just know he wasn’t cleared to go anymore. So we’ll see where that goes.”

Backup QB Cole Kelley took over for Allen in the fourth quarter and said he’ll be ready to start next weekend against Alabama if needed:

“I am prepared, but knowing Austin he’ll probably be ready to go,” Kelley said.

Bielema will surely provide more updates in the coming days, but it’ll be interesting to see if Allen is able to practice this week as the Hogs prepare for the Crimson Tide.
