Arkansas has seen one of its defensive backs opt to enter the transfer portal, apparently doing so just before Friday’s deadline.
Christian Ford was a member of the Razorbacks’ 2023 recruiting class, signing with the Arkansas program out of McKinney High School in Texas. However, he has reportedly entered the portal, according to 247Sports’ Trey Biddy.
Ford redshirted as a true freshman in 2023. In 2024, he didn’t see any action.
Ford was the second Arkansas player to enter the portal on Friday. He joined running back Tyrell Reed, who was credited with a rushing and receiving touchdown in 2024 despite limited action.
Freshman quarterback Madden Iamaleava kicked off a week of portal entries on Monday by joining older brother Nico at UCLA. Then, on Tuesday, redshirt freshman guard Zuri Madison and classmate JuJu Pope, a running back, entered the portal before redshirt sophomore wide receiver Shamar Easter followed suit on Wednesday.
It wasn’t all bad news this week as Sam Pittman also signed a player from the portal. On Thursday, QB Trever Jackson, a former 4-star recruit, joined the program after 2 seasons at Florida State.
The Razorbacks currently have the No. 17 transfer class in the country according to 247Sports’ rankings.
