Arkansas quarterback Malik Hornsby appears to be looking at continuing his college football career elsewhere. Hornsby tweeted Thursday evening that his name will be in the NCAA transfer portal on Friday morning.

Hornsby’s brief tweet has multiple reporters covering the Razorbacks questioning whether he’s serious about entering the portal. 247Sports is reporting Hornsby will enter the portal, citing the QB’s tweet. Entering the transfer portal does not bind a player to leave the program, but it is up to the school whether to honor a player’s scholarship while he is in the portal.
Hornsby arrived at Arkansas in 2020 and redshirted that season, playing in 1 game. This season, he appeared in 7 games, going 5-of-12 passing for 46 yards while rushing 24 times for 136 yards and a touchdown.
A Missouri City, Texas native and Fort Bend Marshall product, Hornsby was rated 4-stars and the No. 8 dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2020, picking up 25 scholarship offers.
