The Arkansas Razorbacks are gearing up for a huge conference matchup with the No. 8 LSU Tigers in Week 8.
The Razorbacks are coming off a bye week after upsetting Tennessee in Week 6. The team is now in prime position to pull off another upset, and fans hoping for that result received good news on Wednesday.
SEC teams are required to release an availability report each Wednesday before a game. The Razorbacks’ initial report for Week 8 is more notable because of who is not listed, rather than who is.
Quarterback Taylen Green is not on the report, which seemingly indicates his readiness to play. The QB suffered an injury against Tennessee, but the team was hoping the bye week would allow Green to return for Week 8.
Interestingly, Sam Pittman made some comments earlier on Wednesday that seemed to indicate Green’s status was a little more up in the air.
“(Taylen is) still not full speed yet, but we certainly think there’s a possibility that he can get there,” said Pittman. “We’ll have to wait and see there. We have two more practices and a walk, but have been encouraged about his progression.”
Nonetheless, not listing Green on Wednesday’s report would seemingly indicate we will see the dual-threat QB on Saturday.
Green has been effective for the Razorbacks in 2024. The former Boise State passer has thrown for 1,502 yards with 5 touchdowns. Green has also added 326 rushing yards on the season.
Arkansas currently only has 2 players listed on the availability report. Defensive back Jaylen Braxton is listed as out while running back Rodney Hill is listed as doubtful.
The Razorbacks and Tigers will kick off from Razorback Stadium on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
