The Army football squad is facing a tall task on the road against No. 19 LSU.

Also facing an intense crowd at Tiger Stadium, one Black Knights coach made sure the players’ blood was pumping.

Sean Saturnio, Army’s special teams coordinator, delivered a passionate speech before kickoff.

“Great opportunities provide the patience for great stories,” Saturnio said.

Saturnio, known in Army’s program for digging deep in terms of words of wisdom, told the Black Knights that they “have got to celebrate our opportunities.”

“Pour everything into each other, to doing your job and to following the plan. The story will write itself,” Saturnio said, capping his speech with a loud chant, a break down and a “1,2,3…Army.”

LSU currently has a 21-0 advantage in the second quarter against Army. Senior quarterback Jayden Daniels has thrown 2 touchdown passes, part of his 6-of-9 and 175 yards in the air.

Junior tailback Logan Diggs chipped in a rushing score for the Tigers. So far, Receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has three catches for 122 yards and two TDs.

LSU’s defense already has an interception, a few tackles by loss and a couple of sacks.

Army is looking to move to 3-4 on the season, while LSU is hoping to improve to a 6-2 mark.
