College football brings out the best and worst of us, especially on social media.
This week’s social media wrap-up takes us through that paradigm, from a personal sentiment expressed on a professional account to the humorous blooper after an emotional postgame speech.
Tweeting during a beat-down
Now that's a halftime adjustment: A Texas player IN THIS GAME retweeted about transferring at halftime. Wow. pic.twitter.com/06x71XUl6v

Texas player Kris Boyd retweeted a tweet about transferring to Texas A&M during the Longhorns blowout loss to TCU. Texas coach Charlie Strong said after the game that he wasn’t aware of the retweet but that players shouldn’t have their phones out during halftime. As for Boyd’s postgame comments:
Texas freshman CB Kris Boyd was not made available to the media after the game to discuss the art of tweeting.

Rangers Twitter calls for Charlie Strong to be fired, person behind Tweet is fired instead

Speaking of Strong, the Texas coach apparently doesn’t have many friends within the Texas Rangers PR department. Or maybe he does now, as the person responsible for this since-deleted tweet has been let go by the MLB team.

Northwestern football: good at beating its academic peers, bad at dancing.

Don’t tell Michigan State the tight end is dead in college football. The Spartans lined up four on this play. Here’s betting Bret Bielema is already incorporating this play into the Razorbacks offense.

After holding on to beat Notre Dame, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney was fired up during his on-field interview. Maybe he was too fired up for ESPN brass, but what little we heard of Swinney’s speech was enough to get this writer to get up early for church tomorrow.
