Auburn made a significant addition to its 2025 roster on Easter Sunday.

The Tigers landed a commitment from Austin Peay offensive line transfer Malachi Harris.

Here’s his announcement:

Auburn wasn’t necessarily planning to add a transfer offensive lineman in the portal this spring. Hugh Freeze said earlier this month that Auburn was “pretty set” on that side of the ball barring any departures. But perhaps things changed when Bradyn Joiner announced his plans to enter the portal earlier this week.

With Joiner departing, that opened the door for Auburn to pursue Harris as it seeks offensive line depth. Harris is an Alabama native who spent just 1 season at Austin Peay before entering the transfer portal. He played in 10 games at Austin Peay, so he will have 3 years of eligibility remaining with the Tigers.

Harris was the No. 128 interior offensive lineman in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He attended Jemison High School in Anniston, Alabama. He’s also the older brother of Auburn 4-star edge commit Hezekiah Harris.

Auburn now has 16 transfer commits in the class of 2025.
