Like his speed on the field, Auburn defensive back Javaris Davis was quick to social media on Friday after being omitted as one of college football’s quickest players.

On Thursday, NFL.com’s Chase Goodbread ranked the 16 fastest players in college football, with three from the SEC making the cut. Davis was not on that list.

He voiced his displeasure with his absence from that group on Twitter.

In April, during Auburn’s spring practice, Davis was timed as the team’s fastest player according to Deon Mix, who tweeted that the redshirt freshman clocked a 40-yard dash time of 4.18 seconds.

Davis was listed as a top-50 prospect from Florida by both 247 sports and Rivals in the 2015 recruiting class. In addition to his gridiron accolades, the defensive back was a state runner-up in the 100 meters and 4×100 relay according to his profile at auburntigers.com

Last year, Davis didn’t get the opportunity to showcase his speed on Saturdays. He now seems to have even more incentive to get on the field this fall and make an argument to be on the top of next year’s list.
