A former big-time prospect coming out of high school, Auburn defensive lineman Carl Lawson more than lived up to the hype during his time in college.

Lawson was a freshman All-American in 2013. He then sat out 2014 due to injury — before bouncing back as a sophomore to be a second-team all-conference performer.

In 2016, Lawson broke out. He accrued a team-high 13.5 tackles-for-loss and 9.0 sacks. Lawson was truly amongst the most dominant defensive linemen in a conference known for its line play. The SEC recognized him as a first-team all-conference selection.

Unsurprisingly, Lawson took to his official Twitter page — announcing that he will in fact depart for the 2017 NFL Draft:

The NFL is thirsty for pass-rushing dynamos off of the edge. Based upon Lawson’s skill set, it’s easy to believe he’ll be in high demand this upcoming April.
