Auburn fans traditionally flood Toomer’s Corner in the wake of a big win, and Saturday provided an especially key moment for the Tiger fans to celebrate.

In Tuscaloosa, Auburn was facing Alabama with massive stakes on the line. First place in the SEC standings, and likely in the AP Poll, was up for grabs as we hit the final stretch of the regular season.

The Tigers looked sharp throughout the first half and built their lead all the way to 14 points at one point in the 2nd half. However, things would not come easy with Alabama fighting all the way back to tie things up before finishing off the 94-85 win.

That victory in Tuscaloosa sent fans back in Auburn into a frenzy, flooding Toomer’s Corner for the traditional rolling of the trees:

With the win, Auburn has a 1-game lead over Alabama in the SEC standings at 11-1 in league play. There are just 6 games left in the regular season as the Tigers try to lock up the No. 1 seed for the SEC Tournament and potentially the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament.

The win also gives Bruce Pearl back-to-back victories against Alabama after Auburn beat the Crimson Tide on Feb. 7 last year. It is also Auburn’s first win in Tuscaloosa since Jan. 11, 2022.

The two teams will meet again on the final day of the regular season on March 8 in Auburn.
